Centre County 911 alerted Fire Box 211 for a Chief’s call at 316 Forge Road in Spring Township. The residents thought they may have been having a mechanical problem with the furnace in the home. Chief 203 (Lohr) handled the Chief’s call. Chief Lohr cleared Box 211 at 1401 hours.

Centre County 911 alerted Fire Box 137 for a report of a vehicle on fire inside a garage at 457 Valley View Road in Benner Township. Department Chief 5600 (Bruno) arrived on the scene and reported the vehicle was removed from the garage and confirmed a working fire in the engine compartment, holding Box 137 to Two Engines and Tanker 920 (Milesburg). Engine 210 arrived on the scene and made a quick knock on the fire. Engine 212 responded as the second due Engine Company. Units cleared Box 137 at 1311 hours.

Centre County 911 alerted Fire Box 1440 for a report of a chimney fire at 4875 Jacksonville Road in Marion Township, requesting the Ladder Truck on the Box. Ladder 217 cleared Box 1440 at 0956 hours.

Centre County 911 alerted Rescue Box 124 for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries in front of Log Cabin Motors, 600 Pleasant View Boulevard in Spring Township. Units arrived on the scene and found one vehicle off the roadway with one patient with minor injuries. Units cleared Box 124 at 1143 hours.

Centre County 911 alerted Fire Box 111 for an automatic fire alarm at the Skills Group, 116 East Linn Street in Bellefonte. Prior to units responding the Bellefonte Police Department arrived on the scene and found the alarm was an accidental activation by a client. Units cleared Box 111 at 1248 hours.

Centre County 911 alerted Fire Box 111 for a report of an odor of natural gas in the area of the American Legion, 121 East Howard Street in Bellefonte. Chief 101 (Schreffler) arrived on the scene and held all apparatus in quarters. Units cleared Box 111 at 1817 hours.

Centre County 911 alerted Rescue Box 180 for a report of a vehicle accident with unknown injuries on Interstate 80 at mile marker 162 west bound in Marion Township. Units arrived on the scene and found no injuries. Units cleared Box 180 at 2331 hours.

Centre County 911 alerted Fire Box 211 for a report of an apartment on fire at Belle Towers Apartments, 348 East Bishop Street in Bellefonte. Spring Township Police arrived on the scene and confirmed a working fire in apartment #1 in the basement. Police received a report from fleeing occupants that person may be trapped inside. The Box was then upgraded to a 2nd alarm assignment with entrapment at the request of Department Chief 5600 (Bruno). Chief Bruno arrived on the scene and assumed the command on Fire 2. Ladder 217 arrived 1st and were ordered to advance a 1.75” line to the apartment. The crew split and also began a search of the building. Engine 210 arrived next and laid a supply line from hydrant on Bishop to Blanchard Street and the crew advanced the second line (300’ 2” line) as a back up line. Rescue Engine 914 arrived next and laid a supply line from Blanchard Street and Crawford Lane to the scene. Engine 212 staged on East Logan Street and sent the crew to assist with operations. Rescue Engine 114 staged at the hydrant that Engine 210 laid. Crews made a quick knock on the fire and held it to a single room in the apartment. A Spring Township Police Officer and a tenant were transported from the scene for smoke inhalation. The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshalls Office was notified and is investigating the fire. Units cleared Box 211 at 1900 hours.
